With the impending overthrow by emoticons, I can see why you'd side with the winning team. : P I can see that this would be effective for the display of the titular emotion.

However, this idea has yet to display full potential. In order to further convey what you have envisioned, a push in technique is required. With an increase in framerate and count, as well as an... improvement(for lack of a better word) on the fluidity of the icon's motion.

What you have here is not far from brilliant. Perhaps in the future, you could revisit this concept with a style that will have inevitably improved.
